July 2, 2008 – 9:52 am by Nick

GMATThe Graduate Management Admissions Council, responsible for preparing the GMAT test questions, is questioning 6,000 business school students, who might have had access to GMAT questions beforehand.
The GMAC sued Scoretop.com for publishing “live” GMAT questions. Scoretop featured a $30 VIP service, giving users access to live questions. Established GMAT preparation company like a Kaplan buy past questions

The court ruled in favor of GMAC, awarding the company $2.3 million plus legal costs. The court also ordered Scoretop to hand over their domain name and hard drives.

Scoretop blamed an active community of posters, who would reconstruct and post “live” questions after taking the exam. Over the five year’s of Scoretop’s existence, 6,000 current, prospective, and former business school students cheated by having access to questions. GMAC is pursuing a nullification of their scores. The students have no recourse because they signed a pre-test NDA.
