America’s Top Community Colleges
June 11, 2008 – 4:16 am by Nick
Washington Monthly prepared an extensive ranking for America’s top community colleges. The publication aimed to devote the proper attention to the often neglected community colleges. U.S. News & World Report and the Princeton Review seem to shun the institutions, which account for a significant amount of US students.
43% of freshmen join community colleges. The rankings are based on the Community College Survey of Student Engagement, which surveys and grades performance. The schools on the current list have a graduation rate of 50% higher than the national average for community colleges.
