The New York Times is reporting that Ivy League Colleges have posted record low admission numbers for 2008. Tens of thousands of rejection letters were mailed out today. The numbers reflect the increased competition for admission to prestigious universities. It has been reported that a perfect score on the SAT will not guarantee admission.

  • Yale accepted 8.3% of 22,813 applicants.
  • Columbia College accepted 8.7% percent of its applicants.
